Objectives
- 1. Improve standardisation and harmonisation of FMD diagnostic results through the development of a panel of stabilised, validated diagnostic kits for FMD serology and antigen typing ready for commercial exploitation
- 2. Develop and evaluate confirmatory DIVA tests and test systems for post-outbreak sero-surveillance (e.g. NSP-ELISA combinations, improved IgA ELISAs)
Develop and evaluate a multiplex immunoassay that allows simultaneous detection of antibodies to multiple viral antigens in a single reaction

- 2.1. Optimisation and validation of a polyclonal NSP ELISA (partner 3)
- 2.2. Organisation of a validation workshop on confirmatory test systems including possible confirmatory tests
- 2.3. Improvement of an ELISA to detect IgA in saliva of FMDV infected animals regardless of their vaccination status
- Task 3. Development of a multiplex immunoassay
